I’m a second-year graduate student at Rice University supervised by David Fisher.

I like to think about dynamical systems arising from geometry, and I’m a fan of many other areas of mathematics.

I’m currently reading

• Ergodic Theory and Semisimple Groups by Zimmer
• “An Extension of Margulis’ Super-Rigidity Theorem” by Uri Bader and Alex Furman
• “Arithmeticity, Superrigidity, and Totally Geodesic Submanifolds” by Uri Bader, David Fisher, Nick Miller, and Matthew Stover
• Nostromo by Joseph Conrad
• The Collected Works of Billy the Kid by Michael Ondaatje

By and large, our present problem is one of attitudes and implements. We are remodeling the Alhambra with a steam-shovel, and we are proud of our yardage. We shall hardly relinquish the shovel, which after all has many good points, but we are in need of gentler and more objective criteria for its successful use.

Il faut cultiver notre jardin.
